Homework Assignments

Homework policy

  1. Homeworks are assigned each Monday and due the subsequent Monday (this may change later in the quarter). The homework must be turned in no later than the end of the class lecture on the due date.
  2. Absolutely no late homework accepted since the homework solution will be posted on this web site on the same day.
  3. Problems are primarily assigned from the textbook. Additional questions or problems outside the textbook are explicitly stated in the assignments.
  4. Students are permitted and encouraged to discuss approaches to homework problems together together so they can learn various problem-solving techniques from each other, but must complete and submit homework individually.
  5. Please write your name and your section clearly.

Homework grading

All late homeworks automatically receive zero score since the homework solution will be posted on this web site on the due date, after the end of the class lecture.

Grading guidelines.

NOTE on solutions:

  1. Solutions sometimes have errors. If you suspect possible errors, please notify the instructor and the TAs.
  2. There are many methods to solve a problem. A method used in the textbook solution or by the TAs or by the instructor should not be interpreted as the only "right" way to solve a problem.
Homework 0

Optional review homework, can replace lowest regular homework score. Assigned on Wednesday 9/28, due Monday 10/3 in class.
