Outcome surveys:

There are two web-based surveys used to assess learning outcomes in EE 233. At the bottom of each survey web page, answer Yes to the question "Do you want an email confirmation that your results were saved?". Forward this confirmation to the course instructor and if you complete BOTH surveys, your lowest homework score will be dropped in grade calculations.

You must have a UW NetID (e.g. account whose email ends with @u.washington.edu) to respond to the surveys.

  1. Background survey (taken off-line as of 01-22-01). Please take this survey before January 19 so the results can be used in lecture planning for EE 233. Note that the numerical scale is 1 (worse or lowest) to 5 (best or highest).
  2. End-of-quarter survey (posted February 28). Please fill out this survey no later than 5 PM Friday March 9. Note that the numerical scale is 1 (worse or lowest) to 5 (best or highest).

Announcements

  1. Check your homework scores and let the grader know (csugg@u.washington.edu) if there are errors. Please do so by Friday March 5. The scores are in the Excel file at: http://students.washington.edu/~csugg/EE332HW.xls . Scores are listed by WebID (see your midterm exam for your WebID).
  2. Final exam guidelines are posted on the exam web page. Practice problems for the final exam are posted as homework 8, with solutions. on the homework web page.
  3. See homework web page for hints re HW 7.
  4. Beginning the week of February 26, each student can sign up for a 15-minute slot to take the lab exam. Sign up at Phil Spagnolo's desk in the EE TA room. Students in Chun-i's lab sections can sign up too at Phil's desk. The lab exams will begin this week and last through the last week of classes.
  5. EXTRA OH to help students before the final exam: in addition to the 3 regular OH during the week of March 5, there will be 3 extra OH as follows: Thursday 03-08, 1-2 PM; Friday 03-09, 2:30-3:20 PM; Monday 03-12, 10:30-11:20 AM.
  6. Due to heavy snow on Friday 02-16, Homework 5 will be due on Wednesday 02-21 in class. NO late homework accepted after 2:20 PM on Wednesday. Solution will be posted late on Friday 02-23.
  7. After February 19, Quiz section EE 233 AA meets in MOR 116 (instead of MEB 246); and Quiz section EE 233 AD meets in AND 008 (instead of MEB 102). These moves are due to construction in MEB.
  8. Due to travel during the week of February 19, the lectures on Wednesday 02-21 and Friday 02-23 will be delivered by TA Phil Spagnolo. Monday February 19 is a holiday (no class). Professor Soma will not have OH during the week of February 19.

  10. Due to travel on 02-12 and 02-13, the make-up OH for the week of 02-12 are: W 02-14 8:30-9:20 AM and again 12:30-1:20 PM, Th 02-15 01:00-02:00 PM.
  11. Extra OH for the week of midterm exam. M 01-29, 8:30-9:20 AM; T 01-30, 11:00-noon; W 01-31, 2:30-3:20 PM. These are in addition to the regular OH.
  12. The department just initiated a procedure that requires students to buy oscilloscope probes in the laboratory. Please check with the EE Store for prices and information.

  15. College of Engineering Academic Misconduct Policy will be strictly enforced.
    • Homeworks: students are encouraged to work in teams, but each student must submit individual homework solution to be graded weekly.
    • Laboratory work and reports: students work on laboratory experiments in teams and also submit lab reports as teams. No individual laboratory report is required. The same score for each lab report is given to all students in each team.
    • Exams (midterm, final, and laboratory exam): absolutely no cooperation or discussion is permitted. Each student works on an exam individually.
